Welcome back to the Act Like a Girl podcast! This week Suzee Dunn and Tracie Walker sat down with Malie Mason. Mason is a comedian, director, and writer. She has been creating her own stuff for awhile!
“I want to help people de-mystify feminism because, for some reason, I have noticed a stigma forming around this concept of equality. These are often formed out of fear or lack of knowledge. I simply want to be treated as an individual human, instead of being generalized, payed less and treated like one of those eggs that you build a cushiony little container around, as an assignment, to keep it from breaking, in 8th grade. I’m not an egg in the 8th grade! Anyway, equality.” -Malie Mason
We will keep you all updated about Jackie’s new series “The Fabulous Monk” coming this fall along with her much anticipated Halloween sketches!!! In the meantime check out our #FeministCrushFriday with her, watch some funny commercials here, and follow her on Instagram!
This week we discuss why we group the homosexual community into marginalization we fear, abortion and birth control, the buddhist way of life, and why people don’t think women are funny. You know, keeping it light.
